Summary
Although today the finest cigars from Honduras, Indonesia, Peru or Africa do not have the reputation of the Montecristo from the Dominican Republic or the Cohiba from Cuba, it is quite possible that some of them are at the forefront of the next wave of premium cigars that will claim their rightful share of the international market.
Honduras cigars

Rocky Patel cigars
Rocky Patel cigars rank among the best from Honduras. For instance, the Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 are crafted with tobacco aged for over 12 years. Depending on their wrapper, these cigars develop notes of hazelnut, cedar, coffee and dark chocolate.
Macanudo cigars
The wrapper and binder of the Macanudo Inspirado Orange are made from Honduran tobacco, while the filler is a blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan and Honduran tobacco. Medium-bodied, the Macanudo Orange exhibits notes of cedar, hazelnut, earth and pepper.
Other Honduran cigars
They include Alec Bradley, Flor de Selva and Camacho. Mainly intended for export, some versions of the Cuban Belinda cigars are produced in Honduras.
Peruvian cigars

Inca cigars are the only internationally recognized Peruvian brand. Every Inca cigar is completely handcrafted in Peru using Peruvian tobacco from the wrapper to the filler. They are characterized by smooth, balanced flavors along with notes of cocoa, earth and coffee.
Indonesian Cigars

In Indonesia, tobacco cultivation is a time-honoured tradition on the islands of Java and Sumatra. Here are two brands of cigars manufactured in Indonesia.
Bali Premium
Bali Premium cigars are made with dark, air‐fermented Indonesian tobacco. They reveal complex flavours with notes of wood, spices and coffee.
Montague
These premium cigars reveal a fine aromatic richness with hints of cedar and spices.
CVJ
CVJ cigars are handcrafted by Indonesian torcedores using high‐quality tobacco grown from Havana seeds. Their carefully rolled wrapper is secured with an odorless vegetable resin, ensuring optimal combustion and a balanced taste.
African Cigars

In recent years, Africa has been producing cigars of highly respectable quality.
Bongani
Bongani cigars are produced in Mozambique, using tobaccos cultivated in Mozambique and Nigeria.
Mosi Oa Tunya
Recently, Zimbabwe has begun producing Mosi Oa Tunya cigars, hand‐rolled by torcedoras trained by artisans from the Dominican Republic. Experts note that these cigars offer a refined, balanced aroma with spicy nuances.
Montecristo Africa
Now discontinued, this Montecristo line was manufactured in the Dominican Republic using a blend of tobacco from Cameroon, Tanzania and Ecuador.
